Unlock your potential for drawing realistically with charcoal and white pastel! This class is for artists of all skill levels – including beginners – who wish to learn how to take their drawing ability to the next level. Instructor Rae Whalen will guide you through step-by-step instructions and share her philosophy on drawing and realism in art. Students will learn an enjoyable, engaging way to draw!
From the instructor: I’m an award-winning representational artist and Arts In Hand Gallery artist since 2018. Being self-taught, I worked hard to unlock the secrets of realistic art. My biggest discovery was an easy-to-follow formula for creating beautiful drawings. The foundation of realist art lies in a solid understanding of drawing, but it does not have to be difficult. Join me for a fun one-day workshop where we will work with charcoal and white pastel. I’ll not only share my techniques, but my philosophy of art as well. All skill levels are welcome!”
Supplies List: Materials needed are the General’s Charcoal Drawing set that includes a white pencil (found at Hobby Lobby and several online art retailers), a white plastic eraser, and your enthusiasm! Other required materials will be provided (including paper).
